Operation of chemfig
16 Saving to a file¶
The boolean key save, set to ⟨false⟩ by default, allows—when set to ⟨true⟩—the instructions to be saved to a file1 TikZ generated by \chemfig{⟨code⟩}.
The save name key allows you to specify the file name (the extension will always be tex). Its default value is
\jobname-fig*
where the character “*”, if used, is replaced by a number starting at 1 and incremented each time the \chemfig macro is called with save = ⟨true⟩.
1 The macros \chemabove, \chembelow, and \charge are not converted to TikZ commands and are left as is.
